Corregidor Tour

  • Known as “The Rock”, Corregidor is a tiny island-fortress in the mouth of Manila Bay. It is one of the glorious names in World War II history and is now a national shrine to the valor of the Filipino and American soldiers who defended it.

In this tour, you will be taking a fast island cruiser by the Folk Arts Theater at 7:30 in the morning to Corregidor Island. Visitors will be brought around the island via buses built to resemble “tranvias”, the streetcars of Manila before World War II. In the island you’ll see General MacArthur’s former headquarters, the ruins of the “mile-long barracks” and the Malinta Tunnel where a light and sound show recalls the significant moments of the island under siege. The island is also rich in well-preserved and intact mortars, batteries and gun emplacements. At the highest point of Corregidor you will be visiting the Pacific War Memorial, a monument truly fitting of the men and women who made a gallant and magnificent stand on this island. After the tour, a buffet lunch will be served at the Corregidor Inn. The island also has forest trails, a jungle survival camp, bird watching opportunities, scenic boat rides, and even a beach to enjoy the rest of day. You will then return to Manila in the afternoon.
