Day 1: Arrive Auckland
Self drive travellers will collect their vehicle from the Airport and Seat in Coach passengers will be transferred to the their Auckland hotel for the first night.Day 2: Auckland to Rotorua via Waitomo Caves
Leaving central Auckland you will head south through the rural Waikato region to the world renown Waitomo Glowworm Caves. The Caves offer amazing limestone formations that have been created over thousands of years. The included tour of the caves includes a boat ride through the Glowworm grotto with the Glow worms sparkling throughout the roof of the cave.Onto Rotorua where you will stay for two nights with a Maori Hangi and Concert included tonight at your hotel
Day 3: Rotorua Sightseeing
Three major attractions are included with your Rotorua Sightseeing. Begin with a visit to Te Puia Thermal Reserve where you will see boiling mud pools and steaming geysers, before heading to Rainbow Springs for a chance to learn about New Zealand’s native bird – the Kiwi. Finally a visit to the Agrodome to learn about our farming heritage with an entertaining farm show.The afternoon is free to enjoy Rotorua at your own pace or ask us about other activities that are available and we would be happy to arrange these for you at an additional cost.
Day 4: Rotorua to Wellington
As your journey continues towards the lower part of the North Island enjoy magical views of our largest lake – Lake Taupo which is big enough to fit the entire island of Singapore in it. Further on is the very grand Mt Ruapehu, the North Islands highest peak. There will be more vistas of rolling farmland before you reach New Zealand’s capital city – Wellington.Day 5: Wellington to Christchurch
Travel on the Interislander Ferry from Wellington to Picton via the sheltered Queen Charlotte Sound. Once in the South Island the journey will take you south along the coast to Christchurch for one nights stay.Day 6: Christchurch to Fox Glacier
Today Seat in Coach passengers enjoy the world renowned Tranz Alpine scenic train journey from Christchurch across the vast Canterbury Plains before climbing the Southern Alps, then descend through the lush beech rain forest to the West Coast town of Greymouth. Self Drive passengers will drive themselves across the plains and over the Southern Alps – A journey that will provide many great photo opportunities including the spectacular Otira Viaduct. From Greymouth journey south along the rugged West Coast to the Glacier region and overnight in Fox Glacier TownshipDay 7: Fox Glacier to Queenstown
A fabulous touring day where the scenery transforms from wild West Coast beaches to stunning mountain vistas while passing through lush beech rainforests before arriving in the Southern Lakes District. Arrive in Queenstown for a 2 night stay.Day 8: Queenstown at Leisure
A full day to enjoy the sights and activities in Queenstown. We have included entry to the Skyline Gondola where you will find an awesome panoramic view of the region. There are many optional activities for you to experience including the Shotover Jet, Appellation Wine Tours, Dart River Jet Boat Safari, Nomad 4WD drive adventures and many more. We would be happy to pre book any of these for you. (additional costs apply).Day 9: Queenstown, Milford Sound and Te Anau
Today is a New Zealand touring highlight. A full day trip leaving from Queenstown and travelling alongside the beautiful Lake Wakatipu to the Lakeside town of Te Anau. After a short stop here your journey continues along the Milford Sound road passing through some of New Zealand’s most stunning scenery. We have included a cruise with Jucy Cruize on their modern boat where you will be spoilt with unlimited, close-up viewing of waterfalls, wildlife and rainforests. Following your cruise return to Te Anau where you will stay for one night.Day 10 : Te Anau to Dunedin
A half day journey will take you to Dunedin, an historic city with beautiful old buildings including the Dunedin Railway Station building. You will arrive in time to partake in an optional Speight’s Brewery tour or an excursion to visit the wildlife on the Otago Pennissula. We suggest you visit ‘Natures Wonders’ where you will experience a genuine New Zealand sheep farm which includes penguin sightings and seals. To enjoy Natures Wonders we recommend you prebook a tour with Awesome Wildlife Eco Tours (optional). We can arrange this for you.Day 11: Dunedin to Christchurch
Return to Christchurch along the eastern coast of the South Island passing through the towns of Oamaru and Timaru. Overnight in Christchurch before your departure.Day 12:
