Cebu City is located on the central eastern part of Cebu Province, an island at the center of Visayas. It is also known as the “Queen City of the South” as it is the country’s oldest city and the center of commerce, trade, education and industry in Visayas region.
The whole day tour features Cebu and Mactan, two of the most important historical islands in the Philippines. Trace early history through the landmarks in Cebu like the Taoist Temple, where you’ll climb up Beverly Hills and once you reach the temple, you can make a wish and pray for it to be granted; the Magellan’s Cross, which is allegedly the cross that Ferdinand Magellan planted on the shore of Mactan when he first came to the island in March 1521; Fort San Pedro, a military defense structure, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano laborers under the command of Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi and the Spanish Government in Cebu; the Basilica Santo Niño, the country’s oldest church; then head down to the Lapu-Lapu Monument, the site where Lapu-Lapu defeated Magellan when they battled. In Mactan, visit the Guitar Factory, beach resorts, and the colorful markets.
